Sunday mornings have a special kind of quiet. Koa likes to use a little of it (just 20 minutes, with a cup of tea) to set up the week ahead. Not a big productivity makeover, just a gentle reset so Monday doesn't sneak up on you. Here is the routine, step by step.
1. Look back at last week (3 minutes)
Open your notes or planner and ask three quick questions: What did I finish? What slipped? What felt easier than expected?
No judging, just noticing. If something slipped, it simply moves onto this week's list. Koa calls this "collecting crumbs": small clues about how you actually work best.
2. Brain-dump every deadline (5 minutes)
Grab a blank page and write down everything coming up: assignments, quizzes, readings, group meetings, forms to hand in, that overdue library book. Check your course pages, emails and group chats so nothing hides.
Getting it all out of your head and onto paper makes the week feel smaller, almost every time.
3. Pick your top 3 (3 minutes)
Now circle the three tasks that would make this week a win if they got done. Often that means the nearest deadline, the biggest piece of work, and one thing you've been quietly avoiding.
Everything else stays on the list, it just doesn't get the spotlight. Three is enough to aim for and few enough to remember.
4. Block Pomodoro sessions in your calendar (5 minutes)
The Pomodoro Technique was developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s, while he was a university student. The idea is simple: work in one focused block (classically 25 minutes), then take a short break. He named it after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer he used, because pomodoro is Italian for tomato.
For each of your top 3, estimate how many Pomodoros it needs and put them in your calendar like real appointments. A few sessions a day per big task is plenty. Leave some empty space too, because weeks always wobble a little.
When a session starts, open the free pink timer at pinkoa.com and let Koa keep count for you. If you like seeing the whole week on one page, the weekly spread in the Koa Digital Study Planner 2026/27 was made for exactly this step.
5. Prep your desk (3 minutes)
Clear away yesterday's cups, put back what you don't need, and set up Monday's first task: the right notebook open, pens ready, laptop charged. Future-you can sit down and simply start.
6. Plan an early night (1 minute)
The last step is the easiest to skip and one of the kindest. Decide now what time the screens go away tonight. Starting Monday rested feels so much better than starting it tired.
Shade of the day: Lavender Blush
Today's shade is Lavender Blush, #FFF0F5, a soft, barely-there pink that is also one of the standard named colours in CSS. It's the colour of a calm Sunday morning: gentle enough for a planner background, sweet enough to make you smile.
And that's it: 20 minutes, one cup of tea, and a week that feels doable. Koa will be waiting with the timer whenever you're ready. Happy Sunday!
